Sigma International was founded in May 1978 by Mr. Tony Huang as a processor of mullet and mullet roe, so prevalent at one time in the waters of Tampa Bay. Its heritage as a successful, well-managed company is mirrored by its affiliated sister companies Sigma Brothers, Inc. and Shanghai Sigma Metals, Inc., China's largest secondary aluminum alloy maker. Over the years, Sigma's seafood business has evolved into a significant importer of high quality pasteurized refrigerated and frozen crabmeat from China and Southeast Asia.
